Let’s keep campus COVID-19 free
The leaves are turning, the temperature is dropping, and school is back in session. Despite these familiar seasonal markers, though, this Autumn is shaping up to be a strange one due to the continuing COVID-19 pandemic. As St. Kate’s students return to campus, albeit in a more limited capacity than usual, it seems an appropriate time to reiterate some COVID-19 safety tips.
Wash your hands often and well. Use soap and water, and scrub for at least 20 seconds, especially after being in a public place. In the absence of easily accessible soap and water, hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol will do.
Try not to touch your face with unwashed hands.
Practice social distancing. Do your best to remain six feet away from people outside of your household.
Mask up. Wear a face covering in public places to avoid the possibility of infecting others. Along with being courteous, this is mandatory in Minnesota.
Cover your mouth and nose when you cough and sneeze. Use a tissue for maximum efficacy, or your elbow if tissues are unavailable. This is common practice for engaging in good hygiene, but it is more important than ever in light of the pandemic.
As we all adjust to life in the midst of a pandemic, it is important to remember that we need to stay vigilant and avoid becoming lax about COVID-19 safety measures. Stay healthy, St. Kate’s, and enjoy your Fall semester.
